Sage Signal Single Hand Fly Rod

The Sage Signal Single Hand Fly Rod is a premium saltwater fly rod built for anglers chasing everything from their first flats species to bucket-list gamefish.

Combining KonneticHD® Technology, intuitive casting performance, and exceptional durability, the Sage Signal delivers the line speed, accuracy, and fish-fighting power needed to excel in demanding saltwater environments.

Designed with a fast, highly responsive action, the Signal makes both quick, close-range presentations and long, accurate casts feel effortless. Whether you're targeting bonefish, permit, redfish, striped bass, tarpon, snook, or other saltwater species, the rod provides the perfect balance of power and finesse, allowing anglers to react confidently to fast-moving fish and changing conditions.

Built on Sage's renowned KonneticHD® Technology, the blank delivers increased responsiveness, tighter loops, and higher line speeds while reducing unwanted vibration for improved casting accuracy. The result is a fly rod that feels crisp, stable, and easy to control, even in challenging wind conditions.

Every component is engineered to withstand harsh saltwater use. A corrosion-resistant anodized aluminum reel seat, oversized hard chrome snake guides, a Fuji ceramic stripping guide, and an integrated hidden hook keeper provide years of reliable performance. The premium Super Grade full-wells cork handle with cork/EVA fighting butt offers exceptional comfort and leverage during long battles with powerful fish.

Finished in Sage's striking Sea Smoke blank colour with Blue Dun wraps and Metallic Aqua trim, the Signal includes a premium rod bag and a durable powder-coated aluminum rod tube for secure travel and storage.

A: At Drift Outfitters, we carry a full range of fly rods designed for trout, bass, steelhead, salmon, and saltwater species. Whether you’re just starting out or looking for a premium rod to match your skill level, our selection covers everything from small creek rods to big-water setups.

Q: How do I choose the right fly rod weight?
A: Rod weight should match the species you’re targeting and the flies you plan to cast. Lighter rods in the 3–5wt range are ideal for trout and delicate presentations, while 6–9wt rods are best for bass, steelhead, and salmon. For powerful saltwater fish like tarpon or permit, heavier 10–12wt rods are recommended.

Q: What rod lengths are available and why does it matter?
A: Most fly rods fall between 7 and 10 feet in length. Shorter rods are great for tight, brushy creeks where accuracy matters, while longer rods provide better reach and line control on larger rivers, lakes, and for specialized techniques like Euro nymphing or spey casting.

Q: Which fly rod brands do you carry?
A: We stock industry-leading brands such as Sage, G. Loomis, Echo, Redington, Sage, Loop, Guideline and more. These brands are trusted by anglers worldwide for innovation, durability, and performance across all styles of fly fishing.

Q: Do you sell spey and switch rods?
A: Yes, Drift Outfitters carries a complete lineup of spey and switch rods. These two-handed rods are ideal for swinging flies on big rivers, offering superior distance, control, and efficiency when chasing steelhead and salmon.

Q: How should I care for my fly rod?
A: Always rinse your rod with fresh water after fishing, especially if used in saltwater. Store it in a protective rod tube, keep ferrules clean, and avoid leaving it in hot cars or direct sunlight. Proper care will ensure your fly rod performs for years to come.
