The Ström Traditional pairs the look of a classic cane rod with the performance of Loop’s flagship Ström series. Under the cane-inspired finish is the same 7X heptagonal blank built with M40X carbon, so you get modern strength, stability and accuracy in a rod that looks like it came from another era.
The details are what set it apart: a hand-selected myrtle wood reel seat with dark nickel hardware, a flor cork handle, Japanese kimono silk wraps, REC Recoil guides and traditional ferrule stoppers.
At 11'6" for a 7-weight line, the 7116 is all about versatility. It’s at home on small and medium rivers, turning over streamers and salmon flies with accuracy and easy distance, and its moderate-fast action gives you smooth loop control with a solid backbone for hard-fighting fish. That makes it a great fit for Great Lakes steelhead, Atlantic salmon and coastal trout.
