NEW Simms Flyweight Packable Waders!
We’re excited to bring you a truly innovative piece of gear from Simms that just landed in the shop: the Simms Flyweight Packable Wader!

If you're the kind of angler who likes to go deep into the backcountry, hike into remote water, or travel light for fly-in trips, this is the wader you've been waiting for.

Ultralight, Packable, Trail-Ready

What sets the Flyweight Packable Wader apart is right in the name. These waders are designed to pack down into their own front chest pocket, making them ultra-compact and ideal for throwing in a duffel, backpack, or carry-on.

Whether you're trekking into alpine creeks, bushwhacking into brook trout country, or trying to stay under weight limits on a fly-in trip, these are a no-compromise solution for anglers on the move.

Clever Features, Built for Versatility

Despite their light weight, these waders are surprisingly substantial. Here’s what we love about them:

  • Breathable upper: Lightweight, comfortable, and designed to keep you cool during long hikes or hot days.
  • Drawstring versatility: The waders feature an internal drawcord system that lets you cinch the top at the chest or roll them down and cinch at the waist—ideal for hot summer days when you want to wet wade but still need protection.
  • Durable lower construction: The legs are built with a more rugged, abrasion-resistant fabric, which gives you confidence while on the move
  • 1.5mm neoprene booties: These are slim booties are designed to be used with lightweight wet-wading shoes—like the Simms Pursuit Shoe saving both bulk and weight in your pack.
  • This pairing allows you to ditch traditional wading boots, making your entire kit more streamlined and travel-friendly. If you prefer to wear standard wading boots, you still can—but if weight savings are a priority, this system is built to deliver.

Travel-Ready Performance

At Drift, we get a lot of folks heading out on fly-in trips, backcountry missions, or spontaneous day hikes that call for versatility and packability. The Simms Flyweight Packable Wader delivers serious performance in a form that fits in your daypack.

Whether you’re chasing golden trout in alpine lakes, hiking in to swing for steelhead, or just trying to keep your checked bag under 50 pounds, this is a piece of gear you’re going to be glad you brought.

We’re really excited to have these waders on the wall here at Drift. They’re available in-store and online, and we expect them to move quickly—especially with summer travel season ramping up.Got questions about sizing, boot compatibility, or backcountry setup tips?
