The bearing world is a lot like the automotive world. You could walk into a dealership and ask for a vehicle with 350 horse power and walk out with a sports car or a pick up—your criteria would be met either way, but your need might not be. Centerpin reel bearings are no different. ABEC rating is important but the reason Islanders spin effortlessly is that we select only the finest quality bearings across all relevant categories like shield design, ball grade, lubrication, and material selection.

This version of reels come with Abec 3 bearings.

Large Arbor

When that chrome missile decides to shoot down river directly at you, you’ll appreciate the Steelheader’s large arbor spool which gives you the pickup you need to keep up.

Interchangeable Retrieve

Right or left handed… It doesn’t matter. As a non-directional reel, just spool it up the right way and you’re off to the river.

Limited Two Year Warranty

Islander offers a limited 2 year warranty against manufacturer defects. For a period of two years after the date of purchase, Islander Reels warrants this reel against any failure due to defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty is valid only if the reel has been cleaned and maintained according to the Maintenance Instructions. This warranty applies to the original purchaser only. This warranty does not cover normal wear, misuse, or loss. Nor does this warranty cover damage due to: improper use or improper assembly, improper/inadequate cleaning or improper/inadequate maintenance.

Cautionary Note: It is recommended that mono-filament line be removed from the line cavity of the spool every once in a while to relax the line and remove pressure from the spool walls.
