"Coho, the moody salmon species. Depending on what river system you may be targeting them and how much angling pressure those fish get, they can either be super bitey or not at all. Here in BC's Lower Mainland, Coho get quite a bit of angling pressure, so we've had to play around with more subtle colours and smaller patterns. Some rivers with a bit more glacial influence, your fly choice might need a bit of a brighter, more visible colour. This pattern, in it's various colour combinations, has been a staple in my fly box over the years and is a proven pattern for enticing those moody Coho. Typically fished on a full floating line or an intermediate tip with a long leader, stripping this pattern in slow moving water will definitely turn some heads!"
