Fishing Forecast for October 30th!
Hey, it’s Chris here, just out for a morning walk and bringing you the fishing forecast for October 30th! Before we dive into the forecast, a quick reminder that it's Black Fly Day at the shop. So, if you’re looking for some deals or getting a head start on holiday shopping, now’s the time to check in. This week, we’ve got a bunch of awesome Simms gear on sale, plus even more in-shop-only deals that we can’t advertise online due to pricing rules. Give us a call or stop by to get the full rundown—there’s some really good stuff available. Keep an eye out, too, because we’ll be adding more deals throughout the month online, and we’ll keep you posted through the newsletter as usual.
Now, onto the forecast. As we head into November, we got a huge amount of rain across the province yesterday. The radar showed a solid wall of rain from north to south, which should really help conditions for this weekend. Looking at river levels today, many of them look pretty prime. One thing to remember, though, is that since we haven’t had much rain recently to flush out the summer sediment, your usual "prime" levels might be a bit murkier than expected, at least for today and tomorrow. By the weekend, things should shape up nicely across most rivers.
As for fly choices this weekend, you don’t need to stray too far from what’s been working the past few weeks. For egg patterns, stick to natural shades like peaches and light pinks. For swing flies, go with baitfish patterns in olive and white—nothing too flashy, and it should do the job well. If you’re heading out today or tomorrow, you might want to bring some bigger, brighter flies like worm patterns or vibrant egg patterns.
Remember, we’re always here to help! If you need advice on where to go this weekend, just give us a call or stop by the shop—we’d be more than happy to help you out. Hope to see you on the water!
