Fishing Forecast for June 19th

If you've wanted to mix up your fishing from the usual patterns, June is the time to do it! While trout rolls on and some of our most exciting hatches of the year pick up, new opportunities arise! Sight fishing giant carp, gar and bowfin is thrilling fishing, musky are going strong, and bass opens in zone 17 this weekend!

Check out our trout, bass, and carp forecasts below!

Make sure to check out the "Hot Flies" section below to set yourself up for success!

Trout Forecast

Trout continues to fish well with cold tempuratures helping the cause. Stonefly dries will be very effective on our freestone rivers as a prospecting fly, and caddis will produce everywhere as well!

Bass Forecast

Bass opens in some zones this weekend including the Kawartha Lakes, get out there and enjoy it! Focus on baitfish and crawfish patterns, if you notice that it warms up and frogs are active, don't be afraid to try topwaters too!

Carp Forecast

Carp continues to roll along on the Great Lakes, don't wait to get out though, once it gets too hot those fish move off the flats. Now is your chance to get into a trophy fish while wading!

Flair Jig (Bass)

Similar to the infamous black marabou jig used by conventional bass anglers everywhere, fish it and hold on!

Spent CDC Caddis (Trout)

Caddis flies are being seen on all of our rivers now and you'll see them continue for most of our trout season. Check out one of our favourite patterns here!

Flex Hex Nymph (Carp)

Hexagenia mayflies (aka fish flies, shad flies, hexes) are a super important food source for many fish including carp and bass!
