Morning Demos and Lessons
Date: May 26th
Time: 9am - 12:30pm
Parking: On Site
Location: Bissell Park, Elora, ON
Address: 127 E Mill St, Elora, ON
Join us in the morning at 9am for a slough of fun activities, including presentations from Nick Groves, Ian Troup, & Tyler Dunsmore, product demos from NRS, Sage, Redington, & Rio, casting games, chances to win big prizes and free coffee/snacks (sponsored by NRS). All free to take part in!
9:30am - Tyler Dunsmore Kicking off the day we've got local guide and steelhead expert Tyler Dunsmore giving a presentation on scandi style spey casting, and how it can improve your angling. Scandi style lines are our favourites for targeting great lakes steelhead, they're efficient, easy to cast, and quiet. If you have an interest in spey casting, don't miss out on this talk! |
|
10:30am - Ian Troup Following Tyler, Fly Fishing Team Canada member and local guide Ian Troup will take the stage (river), to talk about Spanish dry fly techniques. The Spanish are arguably the most effective dry fly anglers in the world, and that success is in large part thanks to their gear setups and casting technique. If you haven't seen this style of fishing before, hold onto your socks, it's life changing! We can't stress just how different and effective this style of fishing is, you definitely want to be there! |
|
11:30am - Nick Groves To wrap up the morning we'll have local expert, river caretaker, and fishing celebrity Nick Groves showing some of his top tips for fishing streamers for maximum success. Many anglers when fishing streamers simply cast and retrieve a big fly, hoping a fish eats it. Nick has streamer fishing down to a science, has a lot of tricks to show that will help you adapt to the conditions and put more trophy fish in the net! |
All morning we'll also have chances to try the latest gear from Sage, Redington, and Rio! See the full list of rods available to test cast below.
This is a completely free morning of fun, feel free to drop in at any point!
